Camellia + John Paul : Children’s Portrait Session

These littles are very dear to my heart. They just so happen to be my niece and nephew who live just far enough away to make taking photos a little hard to coordinate with school and work schedules. Needless to say, I was thrilled to finally have them back in my studio for some fun portraits documenting their ages (4 & 7).
The outfits their mama dressed them in were adorable and classic and so fitting for their ages. Camellia loves the camera and strutted her stuff like a girl who has seen a few episodes of America’s Next Top Model. Such a honey.
And JP, he’s golden. He really is. My parents get to spend lots of time with them since they live right next door and they never have a bad word to say about either of them. Gotta love grandparents.
I hope you love these images as much as I do… well, maybe that’s asking a lot if you’re not also related to them, but leave me a comment below and let me know which picture is your favorite!
Enjoy!

Jill + Brent : Anniversary Session

Do you recognize the cute couple in these images? You should. Their engagement and wedding images were featured on the blog a year or two ago. Jill is one of my favorite clients for the reason that she is a great “cheerleader” of my business. If you ask her who to use for professional photography, I know she would always say my name. Gotta love that!
Also, it’s just so much fun for me to maintain a life-long relationship with my customers and I look forward to photographing their future together.
This session was mainly in place to add a few new images in their home and give as holiday gifts, but also to create Christmas Cards to mail to all their family and friends.
Here’s what the front of their card looked like. Isn’t it pretty?

It’s really a good idea to plan ahead when you want to do holiday cards/gifts.
We photographed this session in early October (and booked it about 6-8 weeks before to get her ideal time with the leaves changing color), which is just right for the end goal of holiday gifts and cards. It gives me plenty of time for proofing the session, scheduling the ordering appointment, designing the cards, and picking up the order in time to mail out the cards and frame & wrap the gifts.
Aren’t these two just so adorable and sweet together? I love that Brent is the kind of guy that is totally okay with all the pictures Jill likes to take of them, because having those images is such a treasure.
Enjoy,

Jasmin & Drew : Wedding Portraits : Central Gardens, Clear Lake, IA

Jasmin and Drew had a beautiful summer day for their June 18th wedding ceremony held at Central Gardens in Clear Lake, IA.

I am sure this radiant bride was more than just a bit nervous planning an outdoor wedding, but she sure got lucky! It was just a tad on the hot side, but that was definitely better than the rain we’d been experiencing.
I had the pleasure of photographing among these beautiful gardens full of colorful blossoms. It definitely made my job more fun. It was nice to have several different locations to take family and group portraits. I have dozens of beautiful shots of Drew and Jasmin, it will make it difficult to choose for the album.
The reception was just as intimate of an affair as the wedding ceremony, but still held in high style at the Clarion Inn of Mason City, IA.
Jasmin created the most amazing hand-made candles for favors tucked in cute little craft paper boxes and labeled with a monogrammed stamp. I just love home-made finishing touches.
I can’t wait to share all the images with this bride and groom. But for now, enjoy this sneak peek!
Enjoy!

Grayson’s One Year Session : Children’s Portrait Photography

This little guy has gotten sooo big, sooo fast!  Being a mom myself, I know just how fast the time flies by.  Grayson’s birthday is this Saturday and I couldn’t be happier for him and his family.

He was born about 10 weeks early and I just remember how tiny he was… only 2 lbs. 12 oz.  But he was a strong little man and a fighter.  He impressed all the nurses at St. Mary’s NICU.

Well, look at him now!  All grown up and quite the little charmer!  😉

His mom’s family are HUGE fans of the Nebraska Huskers and so little Gray has his own “Lil’ Red” outfit.  He totally rocked the look!  I love the pouty face image, it’s so adorable… like he’s mad his team lost a play!

The other ones are all super sweet and here are just a few of my favorites.  I was glad he liked the vintage pickup toy I found.  That helped keep him in one place for a few seconds anyway!  LOL!  But, seriously, I love the ones where he’s crawling toward the camera.  He’s got that devilish look on his face like he’s about to get away!!!

Enjoy,

Becca
